The Midland Walkabout Volkssport Club had its first meeting at Midland College and was first founded in 2001 with the fine leadership of Mr. Jack Rogers.
The Midland Walkabout Volkssport Club belongs to the American Volkssport Association (AVA), which was founded in 1979 and is recognized by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
The local club also belongs to the Texas Volkssport Association (TVA). There are over 300 clubs like ours throughout the United States. Our events take place on pre-measured and marked trails and are listed in the Starting Point AVA Guide Book, along with over 1,700 walking trails 
called year-round events (YRE’s) in America.
